February 2026 – Taken with a Mobile
Thanks again for inviting me to judge the “taken with a mobile” competition – just like a digital camera you can get some good, competent, images from a mobile phone, but common issues in the competition images pervade – so learn how to use composition grids and artificial horizons in your images to compose, make sure horizons aren’t wonky, and to ensure crops are correct. Also learn how to edit in your mobile using either the photo edit function or apps like Snapseed. Mobile phone photography is about capturing and editing the image in the phone nowadays, so don’t be afraid to experiment.
